I am no stranger to experiencing creative blocks; I even had a few when I was writing this post. Creative blocks or writing blocks, they're not very fun for anybody and just about everybody will have one when working. These mental blocks really slow kick your productivity up the middle which can be pretty bad especially when whatever you're working on has a deadline. But sitting and staring at what I was just working on, or twiddling my thumbs trying to come up with more ideas on how to keep working doesn't help me very often. A lot of times when I have a creative block and can't for the life of me think of a way to improve what i'm working on, I take a short break and let myself decompress. When you're working so hard on something you're trying to put out at the best of your ability it's easy to get a little stressed out especially if it isn't looking how you want it to. Looking at other examples of artwork or art similar to what I am making helps me out a lot too.
